What’s New? is a monthly current awareness bulletin, produced by Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust Staff library service.

The bulletin is aimed at staff working within clinical and non-clinical environments and brings together the latest guidelines/standards/appraisals, reports and reviews to keep staff up to date.

Patient Health Information Page

As part of their patient and public information remit, health libraries are trying to engage more with customers outside the healthcare workforce. As part of our role in this we have created a dedicated patient health information page on our website.

The page has been created to signpost patients and the public towards reliable online health information. We also aim to raise awareness about local/national organisations which exist to provide support and advice for those with health enquiries or issues.

This page will be regularly updated so please keep checking back for our updates.

Focus On: Trip Database

Today we wanted to shine the light on Trip Database – a tool which allows healthcare professionals to find the best available evidence to answer their clinical questions.

The database contains links to thousands of sites, offering the highest levels of evidence, such as systematic reviews and clinical guidelines. As well as providing research evidence  users are also able to search across other content types such as images,videos,educational courses,news and patient information leaflets.

The Trip Database blog contains useful guides, tips & tricks. You can access it here.

Access to the premium version of the Trip database (Trip Pro) is freely available to everyone in the NHS in England (via Health Education England). It’s worth noting that Trip Pro is accessed via IP address (so you would need to access the database using an NHS computer).
